Money

So I have finally come to realize that I am poor. I like to spend money on nothing and my husband and I have a tendency to spend money like we have it! It's always been a problem and we always find a way to fix it but today I think that is all going to change. I thought we had a budget that worked and somehow it all went wrong! I think I need a financial advisor ( a free one that is) to whip me into shape. I guess people don't really discuss their finances due to I don't know PRIDE or if you have money to not sound snotty! I have no pride left tonight and needed to tell the world I am poor and need to stop spending money!!!!!!!!!! I will admit I don't go shopping all the time and if I go to store I don't buy anything you know due to lack of money. I am not looking for sympathy or anything I guess I just need to read it and say it for myself that I have no money. I have a good job, my husband has a good job so what the heck is happening to the money??? Great question! When I discover the answer I will let you all know!! Tips on money management would be great but not required to read this blog. Well that is all I have for tonight my head is about to explode and I suppose I need to go to bed to sleep away my sorrows! Have a great night and hope to see you tomorrow!

Leslie this is one of my favorite topics! I'm always trying to find ways to save more money. Maybe you could find at least one or two of my ideas (and please let me know of any ideas you have because there have got to be some). For the first time in our lives we're on a budget. My husband just took a new job without overtime, which means less pay. We figured out how much he'll bring home, what our necessity bills are, and how much we'd like to put away each month. Well, we didn't have enough left over to put away that much! We made cuts until we did have that much left over. I now take my calculator to the grocery store and only spend $100 instead of $200! That's a savings of 4-500/month right there! My husband buys the cheapest beer, and I decided no more expensive alcohol for me. My husband uses Virgin Mobile for his cell and only spends $5.00/month on it! Also, we have basic cable for $20/month. We only have $400/month spending cash. Right now I can't even go to McDonald's until his next check. My husband has a pretty good job but we have 4 kids and I don't work. You are an RN and your husband is a firefighter, with just one kid? I bet you guys make way more than we do. Just figure out what you'd like to put away per month and make cuts from there. Can you use any of these ideas? And don't forget to give me yours! Check out my living on a bugdet post.

Join me on a "NO BUY" challenge for the month of March. I figure if I can only buy necessities for one month, I can carry it over to another one.

I know what you mean about spending on "nothing".

Make a list of where you are spending. I think you will be shocked at the results. But it will help you plan better.

Hang in there. It will get better. Identifing the problem is a GREAT start.
